Fresh Beginnings
We moved back into our refurbished church building at the end of October. That gave us (almost) enough time to sort out any teething troubles before our official re-opening on 11 November. The church was packed to capacity that night as friends from Nairn, Inverness and further afield joined us to give thanks to God for His goodness to us. Rev David Meredith spoke on the subject of God’s glory and the congregation responded enthusiastically in praise to the King of glory, singing the last few verses of Psalm 24 to the tune St George’s Edinburgh. There wasn’t much evidence of dour Presbyterianism that night!
The re-opening celebrations marked the end of one phase and the beginning of another in our congregational life. We do not worship a building; we worship the God of all ages. While thankful for our heritage as a church, our focus must be to proclaim and model the unchanging gospel in a changing society. We look to God to help us use our refurbished building to this end.
